Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi Mohamud has deployed and reshuffled some of his County Executive Committee members and his chief officers to head crucial departments.
Among those appointed to plum departments is a former humanitarian aid worker, Ibrahim Abdi Mohamed, appointed to lead the Finance Department. Mr. Mohamed has got wide range of experience both at national and international levels.
Mr. Ibrahim has twenty years experience working with the government and international organisations. He worked with the Ministry of Health and held different managerial positions while working with USAID funded projects including APHIA II NEP, APHIA plus Northern Arid lands and APHIA plus IMARISHA project both covering Wajir and Mandera counties respectively.
He also provided technical assistance to the department of health in areas of HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis.
During his tenure, he also worked with intra international, AMREF Health Africa ,Broadreach health care limited in supporting and strengthening health systems in the areas of private and public partnerships for health.
Mr Ibrahim is a health system specialist with MSC in health system management. He did attend several short courses in Dar e salaam and Liverpool school of tropical medicine in the United Kingdom. Before his appointment, he was the Acting deputy director Standards and Quality Assurance and the Head of Malaria/ Neglected tropical diseases. He has wide expertise in exploiting opportunities and strengthening programs and projects.
