Two suspected Al-shabaab fighters killed, four students dead in Tuesday dawn Dadaab attack


Suspected Al-shabaab militants have on Tuesday morning attacked a police post in Saretho area of Dadaab, Garissa County.

The attack has since left four students dead and several other civilians injured while the security officers managed to kill two Al-shabaab fighters.

Area Deputy County Commissioner Kibet Bowen confirmed the attack saying stray bullets hit and killed four students who were in the houses near the police camp.

While commenting on Dadaab attack Police spokesman Charles Owino said, security officers have repulsed the attack and killed two Al-shabaab fighters.

” they had killed four people and were now try to destroy a communication mast when they were engaged by officers” Said Owino.

Mr. Owino added that the attackers were more than ten, and the others were repulsed before causing more destruction in the area.

” security in the area has been beefed up” Owino added.

Al-shabaab militants have in the past carried out deadly attacks against the forces and civilians in the country.

On Sunday Al-shabaab militants launched early morning attack on the US-Kenya military base, Camp Simba in Lamu, killing a US soldier and two civilian contractors before five of them were short dead in a joint operation with Kenya Defense Forces.
