I will expose the corrupt Wajir County Government, vows Senator Kabreta
NAIROBI, Kenya-Wajir senator Abdullahi Ali vowed to expose what he called the ‘corrupt Wajir county government’ led by Governor Mohamed Abdi Mohamud.
In a video clip circulating on social media, the furious Senator said the county government of Wajir failed to honour their mandate and has let down the people of Wajir.
“From today henceforth, I will expose the corrupt Wajir county government,” the Senator told reporters at Parliament Building.
Ali faulted the county government for doing nothing on the locust invasion that has been reported in many parts of county, saying it did not consult the elected leadership of the county.
“The county government was aware of the locust invasion, what have they done , they are now running helter skelter looking for a solution,” he said.
“If the county could have invited the county elected leadership, things could be better now,” he added
Abdullahi also directed the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate corruption in the county, arguing that they have been in the county several times yet prosecuted none.
“EACC officials have been in Wajir, what have they done? The officials are themselves corrupted by the county to sanitize corruption.”
Netizens from Wajir have also voiced their concerns on the senator’s comment, Some bashed the senator, questioning the timing and the motive of his comments .
“You cant be a preacher on both sides. This was his job from day one. He should not educate us on his Job desription. He has been dining with CG. What changed ?” Former Wajir west MP, Abdikadir Ore posted on a WhatsApp group.
“The last time I checked, the senator was in a deep slumber. I am curious to know what has really jolted him out of the slumber? Was there anything denied or could this be a deal that has gone sour? Ama this is a new of style of welcoming 2020 especially when you are broke and your family asked for a holiday trip! Msitupe mawe sanaa!” Hassan sharaf posted on Facebook .
“The senator is just a bitter man. I am sure he isn’t honest on this. Maybe this could be construed as a DEAL TURNED SOUR…….otherwise his track record as a Senator so far leaves alot to be desired,” Hassan Adow via WhatsApp.
Others have supported the senator’s sentiments, saying it’s the right time the senator to exercises his powers and safeguard the county resources that he he claimed are being embezzled in the broad daylight.

Abdullahi, Wajir county senator urged the locals to come up with homegrown solutions to deal with the locust invasion that is on the verge of destroying their vegetation and crops .
