Bungoma youths threaten to revenge if Arati fail to Apologize


Former Bungoma senator Boni Khalwale and Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa were both harrassed and insulted on Thursday by ODM youths in Kibra.

Speaking to the media at kimilili, angry Bungoma youths have condemned the attack and said it was uncalled for. The youth led by Sakwa, Kimilili youth leader, asked Arati to apologize to Didmus barasa, Boni Khalwale and the electorates.

Dagoreti MP Simba Arati was seen threatening Didmus Barasa and other leaders who have come to inspect voters turnout during the Kibra by-election as the voting progressed.

“Unataka ukimbizwe saa hii, you know i can decide mukimbizwe hapa,” Arati threatened.

Responding to female MPs who accompanied Didmus, Arati was heard saying he will undress them if they don’t keep quiet.

“Mtatolewa nguo hapa msipofunga mdomo,” he said.

Following his remarks, angry youths started harassing Didmus Barasa even after he remained calm and begged for protection.

Boni Khalwale was also roughed up, stoned and kicked out of Kibra after he visited Laini Saba Ward, Kibra Constituency. The leader visited the area without a bodyguard. His supporters came late to his rescue. Photos going round on social media show the senator going head to head with the youths using stones.

The youth comprising of bodaboda riders and local traders have told Raila to warn his team else Bungoma will be no go zone for him and for ODM by extension. They also said that Arati must apologize to Didmus , Khalwale and their electorates.

Kimilili Youth leader said that his main agenda is peace and nation cohesion and urge all youths to remain calm, work together regardless of the political camp they support.

Imran Okoth of ODM won the Kibra by-election garnering 24,636 votes while McDonald Mariga came second with 11,230 votes.
