
Two suspects have been arrested in connection with an attack on a passenger bus that killed eleven people along Wajir-Mandera Road, Wajir County Commissioner has said.
Loyford Kipara said one of the suspects identified only as Musa is the driver of the bus.
Kipara said police are also holding the conductor, without divulging much details.
The County commissioner said the driver and his conductor were in a constant communication with a passenger who was making alot of suspicious phone calls and changing positions.
“I was told that there was a guy who kept on moving from one seat to the other talking to the conductor and the driver.”
“We arrested both the driver and conductor and we will look for the other suspect,” Kipara said.
The Wajir county security head also said about seven Al-shabab militia men stopped the bus at a location which is approximately 20 km away from Kutulo town and grouped the passengers into two massacering all the non-locals on board.
“Unfortunately, they massacred all the non- locals travelling with the bus,” Kipara said.
Kipara also urged the locals to work closely with the security apparatus and report any suspicious incident.
“They want to divide us, the members of the public should work closely with the security to curb such terror attacks ,” he further said.
The officers massacred on Friday Al-shabab attack were based in Rhamu, Mandera county.
