Third Way Alliance Party leader and Former Presidential candidate Dr. Ekuru Aukot opened up after the much hyped BBI report was offiicially unveiled to the public at the Bomas of Kenya.

Aukot who was initially pushing the Punguza Mzigo bill has now termed the report unnecessary and copy paste of his bill.

Dr Ekuru stressed that the Punguza had the interest of Kenyans at heart compared to the BBI document.

He said that during the drafting of the BBI, only 7000 people were involved from all the 47 counties whilst all Kenyans were involved in debating the Punguza Mizigo Bill that he was pushing for it to be passed.

Aukot insisted that the content of BBI was mostly borrowed from the Punguza Mizigo Bill and that billions of taxpayers money was lost in the process of drafting the BBI document.

“BBI Report is a Collections of street talks tailor-made to create chaos by weakening constitutional institutions. There is no new thinking. It’s also lifting of aspects of the #PunguzaMizigoBill2019. What a waste of billions of tax payer’s money! ” Aukot wrote on his Twitter.

Ekuru Aukot also added that BBI report left out inclusivity which was a major factor to be discussed in this country.

“National cohesion and inclusivity still a mirage even with all the hullabaloo of #BBIReport. Kenya has 66 political parties; how can they select @IEBCKenya commissioners? So, the players in a game must now chose the referee? What a claw back on constitutional gains!” he added.

The BBI report was officially unveiled by President Kenyatta on Wednesday at the Bomas of Kenya in the presence of many leaders and members of the public.
