The Kenya foreign Ministry of affairs has instructed flights from Mogadishu to fly directly to Nairobi.
In a letter dated on 25th November, The Ministry only allows direct flights from Mogadisho to Kenyatta international airport or Wilson airport, but restricted flights from other parts of Somalia instructing that they make a stopover at Wajir International airport for security check ups.
The letter also added that visa issuance for diplomatic and service passport holders on official engagements will be issued upon arrival as long as they have documentary evidence, But urged those on unofficial visits to apply visas before arrival. The same also applies for ordinary passport holders .
Kenya had on March this year suspended direct flights from Mogadisho to Nairobi and imposed strict visa restrictions on Somalis following a diplomatic rift between the two countries over the maritime issue .
