World’s first male contraceptive is ready, Scientists reveale

Over the Years Women had  birth Control pills to help them prevent unwanted pregnancy, regulate their birth rate, help in making periods lighter and more consistent in their timing , balance the hormonal fluctuations that happen throughout their cycle among other benefits.

Now it is no longer for women only, scientists have now revealed that Male Birth Control is on trial stage and almost ready. Doctors At Indian Council of Medical Research ( ICMR ) confirmed that Male birth Control is waiting Government regulatory Approvals.

Dr. R.S Sharma, while speaking to media reaffirmed that Male Birth Control passed all the stages required and only waiting Approval from the authority.

“The trials are over, including extended, Phase 3 clinical trials for which 303 candidates were recruited with a 97.3 per cent success rate and no reported side effects. The product can safely be called the world’s first male contraceptive,” Dr. Sharma said.

Male birth Control involves injection through the penis which has successfully passed clinical trials, Sharma said.

Male birth Control is made from Polymer called styrene malieic anhydride and is injected into the the two ducts that carry sperm out of the testicles thus blocks the sperm from leaving the testicles. The injection can last for more than 12 years.

According to the researchers, the birth control will be ready in seven months. As depicted by a recent survey carried out by YouGov, a good percentage of the male population have recorded doubts about the Contraceptive.

ICMR have confirmed that the injections through the penis is the only Male birth control in the works although other researchers are into alternative pills which will take in the next 10years.
