The first suspected COVID-19 cases reported in Wajir

The first suspected Coronavirus cases has been reported in Wajir county.

A police officer attached to Warcade Police Station in Eldas sub- county is reported to have developed some signs of the infection.

Eldas sub- county OCPD Mr. Hussein Abduba Gura has confirmed that the officer has an acute fever and common cold and is currently treated in Warcade dispensary

Mr. Gura said that the officer reported back on duty on 10/4/2020 from his home county, Kakamega.

The officer is reported to have travelled through Nakuru-Isiolo via Nyanyuki route.

Elsewhere, in Wajir South, Four people who crossed over from Somalia boarder are currently held at Diif police station.

Medical team from Wajir Regional Referral Laboratory are set to visit Diif and Eldas to examine the situation.
