Inua Mama women legislatures urged Wajir County  women representative Fatuma Gedi to stop hanging out with Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and focus on how to empower her people.

Speaking during the Inua Mama rally at Orahey Grounds in Wajir town, Nomimated Senator Falhada Iman said Wajir women representative is busy following Joho than helping her people who need her services.

“Where is your women representative ? She is always in Mombasa enjoying with Joho every week,” Iman said.

“Our sister, Hon. Nasri Sahal is a nominated MP yet she brought all these to her people,” Iman further said.

Kandara MP who also spoke at the event accused Fatuma Gedi of trying to disrupt the Inua Mama’s rally where a tear gas canister was lobbed at the event, saying that her interest was to cause mayhem and get the protest video however Wahome called upon Gedi to focus on how to change the lives of her people.

“We are aware that she was interested with the clip of the protest and we will not be cowed by such evil acts,”

“We are not interested in this kind of useless politics, let us base our competition on development and how to empower our women and youth,” Wahome said.

Rehema Jaldesa, Isiolo County MP challenged her Wajir counterpart to visit her county and see how she has initiated development projects which are meant to empower women and people living with disability.

“Shame on you, how on earth do you disrupt a rally whose sole purpose was to empower the women who voted for you,” Jaldesa said.

Hon. Nasri Sahal, the host of today’s event who was visibly angry also reminded Ms. Gedi to concentrate on her county, adding the small fracas that occurred will not deter Inua Mama brigade from empowering women and youth.

” I have brought all the clans together and gave them there share. She should do the same,” Ms. Sahal said.

“We are not frightened by fracas , we are used to it and Inua Mama will continue doing their work.”

The Inua Mama today held their first rally after the launch of the BBI report at the Bomas of Kenya. They opposed the idea of subjecting the report to referendum, saying it is a wastage of time and money.
