Over 40 women legislators under the Inua Mama brigade are set to visit Wajir County on November 30th.

The lawmakers led by the outspoken Ford – Kenya nominated Member of the National Assembly, Hon. Nasri Sahal, will launch several projects intended to empower women and youth of Wajir county .

Speaking to Asal Media on phone, Ms. Sahal said that she opted to hold the Inua Mama rally at the famous Orahey Grounds in Wajir town because it resperents the whole of Wajir county, unlike the Embrace team who held theirs in Habaswein , a town in Wajir South constituency, mainly dominated by one section of the communities living in Wajir county.

“We are not a political party, our main goal is to focus on how to empower women and youth,” she told Asal Media.

“I was born in Wajir town and I was a teacher there. I choose it because it is a cosmopolitan town, we want to reach out to all the communities.”

The MP also denied claims that Inua Mama is being sponsored by the Deputy President, William Ruto, terming it as a propaganda and said their funds come mainly from members’ contributions.

“We are 40 members of the National Assembly and senators. We contribute 100, 000 shillings each for our functions.”

“We raise the money to empower the women in the mashinani , get back to our voters and build ourselves politically ” she added

The Inua Mama is expected to donate a football kit for eight teams in Wajir town. Sahal also said that they will distribute Gass dockers, wheelchair, sewing machines, Reflectors among other things.

The legislatures will also visit Wajir special school for the mentally handicapped to distribute 500 mattresses in a bid to uplift the special schools in the county.
