A suspected Garissa coronavirus patient has escaped from a quarantine centre

GARISSA– As the world battles coronavirus, it is prudent people with suspected cases to abide by government directives, and should self-isolate or remain in government-sanctioned facilities to help curb the spread of the virus, reports coming from Garissa county reveals that a suspected COVID-19 victim escaped from the isolation ward.

The victim who was identified as Dunia Abdi Ibrahim, 19, was reported to have travelled from Mombasa on 7th,April, 2020 using a Garissa bound E- Coach bus.

During the escape, the patient was accompanied by close family members who were armed with weapons according to a police report seen by Asal Media.

The report further reveals that the suspected patient voluntarily went to a private hospital in Garissa town complaining of chest pain, dry cough and headache.

It’s also reported that a team from Garissa referral hospital managed to trace the middle aged girl who quarantined her at an isolation ward in order to reduce the spread of the virus.

A team of police officers and medical health practitioners managed to return the suspected victim to the isolation ward.

Blood sample were taken to Nairobi awaiting the result.
