Tarbaj Member of Parliament, Hussein Abdi Bare, has issued a formal warning and called for swift action against senior government administrators who failed to attend the official launch of Haragal Division.

Speaking at the event, Bare expressed strong dissatisfaction over the absence of the Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) and the Assistant County Commissioner (ACC) of Tarbaj Sub-County, despite prior notification and the importance of the occasion. He emphasized that the launch marked a significant milestone of the operationalization of Haragal Division, a newly gazetted administrative unit established to enhance service delivery to local residents.

“This is a gazetted administrative unit, and prior notice of the event had been duly communicated and their absence raises serious concerns about their commitment to duty and service to the people.” Bare said.

The legislator emphasised that the establishment of Haragal Division is part of the government’s broader effort to decentralise services and bring administration closer to the people. He noted that such milestones require the presence and cooperation of all relevant government officials to ensure effective coordination.

Bare warned that failure by public officers to support government initiatives undermines development efforts at the grassroots level. He stressed that all civil servants are expected to align themselves with the policies and programmes of the current administration.

“As leaders entrusted with public responsibility, we must demonstrate accountability, cooperation and dedication to the citizens we serve,” he stated.

The MP further indicated that he would pursue the matter to ensure accountability and prevent a recurrence of similar incidents.

“I will be following up on this matter to ensure that appropriate action is taken,” he said.

The incident has sparked discussions among local leaders and residents, with many calling for improved coordination among government officials to enhance service delivery in the region.
