Days after President Kenyatta unveiled the BBI report to the public, leaders have started grouping themselves into two; those who want the report to be subjected to referendum and others who are for the idea of amending the recommendations through Parliament and other legal institutions.

Amani National Congress party leader – Musalia Mudavadi has on wednesday warned leaders from both jubilee and ODM to stop dividing Kenyans on matters BBI.

While speaking to the media Musalia Mudavadi warned the leaders who are grouping themselves into pro-refrendum and anti- referendum saying that the leaders are missing the point hence polarizing the country.

” we are seeing people jumping to conclusion on pro-parliament or pro-referendum, again they are missing the points and portraying a picture of division to Kenyans” He said.

Mudavadi also faulted the Building Bridges Initiative taskforce for failing to point out the modality of implementating the BBI report. He said Kenyans were waiting a complete report with its criteria of implementation.

” if you look at the terms of reference of the BBI they were also tasked to bring out the modalities of implementing the contents of their report let alone before we even agree on the content” Mudavadi added.

Even as leaders allied to DP Ruto are still opposing the push for referendum, Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi ruled out a possibility of settling on a parliamentary process to implement the report arguing there is lack of proper mechanism to table the report.

While Speaking at the Bomas of Kenya on November 26, 2019, President Kenyatta urged Kenyans to read the documents and make an informed decisions.
