NAIROBI, Kenya- Wajir women representative Ms. Fatuma Gedi has promised to spearhead the process of removing the Majority Leader of the National assembly Aden Duale and his counterpart in the Senate Kipchumba Murkomen from the house leadership positions once the recess is over.
Speaking at Bukhungu stadium in Kakamega during the second phase of the Building Bridges initiative meeting , the Women MP requested the President to do a shake up in the two house leadership and remove the Majority leaders both in the National assembly and the Senate for their hypocrisy and lack of respect.
” Hear our cries Mr President, for us to have a united and a peaceful country , put the two houses in order,” Gedi said
The female legislature also poured cold water on the claims made by some Northern leaders who want the errors made in 2019 Census results be corrected through the Building Bridges Initiative report.
“No, there is no relation between BBI and Census, the people of North Eastern are supporting the BBI report as it is,” The MP said
Gedi hinted that the people of North Eastern fully support the Handshake between President Kenyatta and ODM Leader Raila Odinga saying that their interest is well catered in the BBI report recommendations.
“We are pastrolist, our youths have no jobs so what we want is in the BBI,” Gedi added.
Fatuma Gedi’s remarks comes a week after the National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale vowed to reject the Building Bridges Initiative(BBI) report if it will not address the 2019 Census results of North Eastern which was widely rejected by Kenyans.
