Ruto Appoints Nairobi Businessman To Chair Capital Markets Authority Board

NAIROBI, Kenya, Nairobi businessman Ugas Mohamed has been named the new Capital Markets Authority Board Chairman, in new appointments made by President William Ruto.
According to a gazette notice published on Friday, Mohamed will serve for a period of three years.
The President revoked the appointment of Nick Nesbitt.
Mohamed unsuccessfully vied for the Wajir Governor’s seat on an ANC ticket in the 2022 General Election.
The President also appointed Sylvanus Maritim to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of the Information and Communications Technology Authority.
Maritim will all serve for a period of three years.
The appointment of Fredrick Owino was equally revoked.
