GSU officers killed in an IED attack

Ten General service unit ( GSU ) killed on saturday when their vehicle run over an improvised explosive device ( IED) in Damajale-Harerare in Garisaa county.

The officers from Harehare GSU camp were on a patrol before their vehicle ran over an IED and their vehicle extensively damaged.

In a press release , Inspector general Hilary Mutyanbai confirmed the incident happened as police were doing patrol at Kenya – Somali border ‘Unfortunately we lost some officers and the vehicle they were travelling on was severely damaged ‘ Mr. Mutyambai statement reads .

According to the Inspector General, a contingent of security officers have been dispatched to the area to pursue the attackers.

In June this year , atleast four police were killed after their vehicle run over an IED suspected to be planted by Alshabab.
