Uganda President Yoweri Museveni has come out guns blazing while addressing the nation and slammed those Ugandans who termed the lockdown imposed by government as inconvenience.

He said that is it good to be bored at your homes than to be in the grave.

“They should stop saying nonsense; this is not about inconvenience; that you are bored; that is good, you could be in the grave where there is no boredom,” Said Museveni.

Museveni warned those Ugandans who valued schools and businesses over their health to drop that idea since the enhanced measures in place are to prevent mass death.

The President also banned all outdoor activities including exercise saying those who want to exercise should do so from their rooms or compounds.

Uganda President Museveni reiterated that following the government’s directives and necessary preventive regulations is what helped China to fight the virus and asked the Ugandans to follow suit so that they clear Coronavirus out of their country.

He said Africa is not battling the COVID-19 pandemic but rather a social discipline because the lifestyles are different.

Museveni also asked the landlords to stop evicting tenants because of rent since the country is in crisis. He added that there is always time for everything.

Museveni thanked Ugandans for adhering to the cumulative preventive guidelines, saying the low numbers of confirmed cases with no deaths were a sign of the effectiveness of the measures.

So far, Uganda registered 53 confirmed cases of Coronavirus.
