Banane ward MCA Mohamed shiekh has officially withdrawn the impeachment motion against Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi Mohamud.
Addressing a joint press conference issued by the County leaders and MCAs, the member has confirmed that he has made the decision after wider consultations.
“I do hearby confirm the withdrawal of the motion against Governor Mohamud,” Said Mr Shiekh.
The MCA has said that the push and pull between the County assembly and the Executive has sabotaged county operations saying that it was time to embrace dialogue for the interest of the county.
“ The county is facing pertinent issues like the Coronavirus pandemic,” added Mr. Shiekh.
Mr. Shikeh has last week submitted a notice of impeachment against the Governor accusing him of corruption and misuse of power.
The ward rep has also confirmed that the Governor has agreed to honour all the grievances raised by the members.
“We have signed an MOU with the Governor to fast track on the implementation of the agreed terms,” said Banane ward rep.
On his part, Governor Mohamud has assured that the grievances tabled by the members will be addressed thanking the County leaders for spearheading this historic event.
In attendance were: Eldas MP. Adan Keynan, Wajir West MP. Ahmed Kolosh, Wajir south MP. Mohamud Omar, EALA MP. Fatuma Ibrahim and County MCAs.
